The CANALI shop on via Verri, Milan, has been renovated and enlarged so to reach 630 sqm distributed on three levels: ground floor, basement and mezzanine. The boutique has two big shop-windows on via Verri and more windows on the gallery.

 

Concept designed is the result of a long study process which main objective was, to reflect within the point of sale atmosphere, the consolidated characteristics of the brand. Quality, concreteness and solidity remain the fundamental roles within the space definition.

A through research has been made on material selection and its unique use within the furniture and the architectural space to create visual and tactile contrast enriched by the quality of the detail.

The product display is different and flexible throughout the shop because of the different types of display structure used.

 

A white panel seems to float in front of a mahogany wood-covered wall, where removable elements in shiny stainless steel permit different display typologies and fixed shelves complete the displayed collection.

Leather-covered columns with different widths are backlighted by a light box wall, which highlights the product by contrast. The collection is displayed through specific and exchangeable structures in shiny stainless steel fixed in different levels between the columns.

A geometric composition in mahogany wood supports white shelves of different dimensions to display CANALI accessories permitting a flexible and free disposition of such shelves.

 

The tables within the sale area emerge from a solid/void composition and a combination of materials, which create, opposed tactile sensations. A mahogany wood volume has been cut-in showing a leather interior. The extra clear glass permits other than a worktop, a display within, completing the volume with its transparency.

The cash desk is defined by mahogany wood surfacing where a rectangular light box seems suspended.

 

Channels have been excavated to reveal mahogany-wood within the white ceilings. These channels contain the main source light fixtures. Groups of small light cubes enrich the graphic appearance of such channels other that provide further ambient light.

 

 

 

This project was designed before 2007 together with DuccioGrassi as a collaboration with his studio.
