The Canali boutique in the Shanghai Westgate Mall is provided with four display windows, two facing the prestigious Nanjing Road West and two more inside the Mall.

 

The external windows were the starting point of the store restyling, which reflects the brand’s values and tradition and reinterprets its renewed visual identity.

 

Was gaved close attention to the top of the window, which features a special three-dimensional version of the exclusive Canali texture. Two small diamonds made from matte black metal, which intersect into infinity like the infinite “stitches” needed to transform a Canali suit into reality. At night LED lighting effects coming from the perimeter frame enhance the three-dimensional effect.

 

The interior of the boutique, which has its entrance inside the Mall, skilfully combines fine materials, as “Silk Georgette” stone, luxurious leather and smart crystal glass in shades of grey, to celebrate all Canali’s collections to the full, from the fine tailoring to the leisurewear and accessories.

In general it is a space easy to perceive and to search, as there are no real dividers, but visitors can identify the specificity of each area thanks to the islands of dark walnut wood in the stone floor. The ceiling is particularly striking, featuring grey walnut parallelepiped structures that emit light and seem to float in mid air.

 

It is a space that plays with contrasts of solidity and lightness, of matte colours and transparencies, and of formal tailoring and leisurewear, to propose a new design concept that embraces all the different shades of elegance and achieves a perfect balance between the traditional and the contemporary.
