Correa Granados Architects recently designed the look of a historic family-run café In the beating heart of the Brera Design District in Milan now named Tangram Cafè.

 

A luminescent environment, enriched with re ections, carefully- designed lighting and hanging plants welcomes the guest in an ambient that alludes the the era of 1920’s, which is reinterpreted in a sober and contemporary way.

Green pastel colour, bleached oak wood, cream stone and brass are the ingredients of the new retro language used.

 

The three-arch bottle behind the curvilinear counter alludes to a bygone era that is reinterpreted in fresh, up-to-date language. The perimeter wall paneling with its pill-shaped mirrors, multiplies the space and gives human scale to the high ceilings. The hanging ceiling metal grid emphasizes the geometric theme of the Tangram, the true guiding thread of the entire composition. This Asian game is reinvented as the subject of the new bistrot image.
